Lip glosses have always been my savior. I spend most of the time in doing eye makeup and by the time I pick lipstick to do lip makeup, I find my family already standing out of the house and the car starts honking like crazy. This is the reason I love lip glosses more than lipsticks. It can be applied within seconds with absolutely no mess. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Lotus Herbals Purestay Lip Gloss in Plum Delight.

The packaging of the lip gloss is pretty and girlie. The outer packaging is a pink cardboard box depicting the name of the brand, necessary information, price, date etc. The lip gloss comes in a sturdy, long, rectangular, clear plastic tube with a metallic finish screw top lid. As soon as the lid is opened, you will see a soft doe foot applicator wand that picks the right amount of gloss. The packaging looks fabulous and eye catching. It is quite light and can be easily carried around in a makeup bag without any fuss. The scent of the lip gloss is mild and sweet with no taste.

The formula of the lip gloss is perfect. It has gel like consistency and is not very gloopy. The applicator wand picks the right amount of product but I usually go for a bit sheer application so I wipe it once onto the mouth of the tube. The lip gloss glides smoothly onto my lips without smudging or bleeding. It applies easily around the edges of the lips too. It gives high pigmentation with full coverage in a single swipe and I don’t need to layer it again and again. If you have pigmented lips then this lip gloss is for you. The lip gloss gives a nice glossy finish to my lips.

I often apply lip gloss on its own and it stays for a good 3-4 hours. It survives with few drinks and light meals but fades away with heavy meals. It leaves a beautiful tint behind. It feels a bit sticky after it starts wearing off but does not feel oh so uncomfortable. If I apply it over lipstick it stays for more than 5-6 hours without reapplication.

The lip gloss feels comfortable on my lips and is not heavy or sticky. My hair does get stuck on the lips when the breeze blows but it happens with all the lip glosses. My lips feel slight dry when I remove lip gloss at the end of the day but it really do not bother me as I apply lip balm at frequent intervals.

Plum Delight is a beautiful pink-ish plum shade with a glossy finish. It contains very fine iridescent pink shimmers that are hardly visible. I love using this shade on its own during day time and over the lipstick at night time. It makes my lips look plumper and instantly brightens up my face. It looks a bit pink-ish on my lips but looks bold plum shade on my cousin’s lips (She has wheatish complexion!).
