Patanjali Kesh Kanti Reetha Shampoo Review

My mom used to take utmost care of my hair when I was a child. She used to wash my hair with amla, shikakai and reetha homemade shampoo. Though I used to keep my hair open (Above shoulder with a hair band :)), they were quite thick, black, shiny and in good condition. When I started graduation, I literally took my hair for granted and now I have lost half of my hair. How I regret not taking care of my hair! As suggested by my mom I have started using herbal shampoos to prevent further damage to my hair. I had quite liked Patanjali Kesh Kanti Natural Shampoo (Read my review HERE) and Patanjali Kesh Kanti Reetha Shampoo was the only one that I had not tried. Today I am going to review Patanjali Kesh Kanti Reetha Shampoo.

MBT says-
Patanjali Kesh Kanti Reetha Shampoo comes in a sturdy, white opaque plastic bottle with a black flip top lid. The lid is quite tight and can be easily carried around during traveling without any fear of leakage or spillage. The packaging is fairly simple yet looks nice. It is almost similar to Patanjali Kesh Kanti Milk Protein Shampoo (Read my review HERE) and Patanjali Kesh Kanti Natural Shampoo (Read review HERE). The shampoo is dark black in color with hardly noticeable white minute particles. The scent of the shampoo is mild and pleasant and won’t bother sensitive noses.

The texture of the shampoo is soft and smooth with good consistency. It is neither very thick nor very thin. You are greeted with the pleasant scent as soon as it is dispensed out. I always make sure to dilute my shampoo to reduce the damage the chemicals may cause to the hair. The shampoo is easily applied and gets spread to my medium length hair. Whenever I oil my hair, I require more shampoo than required though it happens with all the shampoos in my case. It creates good lather and the scent does not tend to intensify. It is easily rinsed away. After using the shampoo, my hair feels soft, thoroughly cleansed(I apply oil before washing my hair!) and manageable with a healthy shine. I have soft, silky hair with dry and frizzy ends. As it contains reetha, it makes my ends dry and knotty. I need to use conditioner to resolve the issue. It does not leave greasy residue behind or any build up. As I had told you in my earlier posts that I have been suffering from hair fall and this shampoo does not aggravate and help in controlling it. But if you have severe dandruff then it might not help you though the company does not claim to reduce dandruff. The scent does not linger and fades away as soon as the shampoo is rinsed off. I have not experienced any adverse effects whilst using it. My cousin with dry hair feels this shampoo makes her hair drier so I feel this shampoo is not for dry hair.

Overall Thoughts:
Overall Patanjali Kesh Kanti Reetha Shampoo is a good shampoo to keep your hair soft, shiny and thoroughly cleansed. It removes all dirt and oil off the hair and scalp. I have dry hair with oily scalp and I love it in summers. It makes my hair look clean and manageable. Though it does nothing for my dry ends but I always make sure to condition my hair. If you have oily hair or scalp then I would happily recommend it to you!

Rating: 4/5
