The Body Shop Delipscious Sheer Lip Colour ’09 Pomegranate’ Review, Swatches & LOTD

The Body Shop Delipscious Lip Colour comes in a sleek, beautiful shiny silver, cylindrical shaped plastic casing with some fruit design all over the tube (I really couldn't guess the fruit :D). The lid snaps shut satisfactorily and won’t mess around in your makeup bag. The lipstick has a sticker at the bottom of the tube that states shade number and quantity of the product. The sticker also depicts the color of the shade so it would be easy to identify the shade in case you hoard many from this range. There is no mention of the shade name on the packaging and I referred to the company website to get the name. The casing has chrome shiny finish and looks quite expensive. The fruity scent of the lipstick is quite prominent but is pleasant. I find the packaging quite light when compared to other lipsticks.

The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth. The lipstick can be applied either using a lip brush or directly from the bullet. I am quite an impatient person so prefer applying directly from the bullet. It applies easily and glides effortlessly on my lips. It doesn't get patchy or gloopy upon application. It doesnt feel waxy or sticky on my lips. Although It is quite moisturizing, I do feel the need to apply a lip balm underneath. If you have extremely dry lips, make sure to exfoliate your lips and apply a good lip balm underneath it.  It doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my lips. It glides evenly across my lips without bleeding, feathering or smudging. My lips feel soft, hydrated and nourished. The lipstick gives smooth, even and slightly glossy finish to my lips which I really like a lot. It doesn't accentuate the fine lines of the lips. The pigmentation of the lipstick is quite sheer so you don’t need to be precise as you do for darker lipsticks. I need to swipe it 3-4 times to get noticeable color on my lips. If you have heavy pigmented lips then this product is not for you. The longevity of the lipstick is quite poor. Since it is a sheer color, it starts wearing off after 1 hour and vanishes away completely with eating and drinking. I need to reapply it after every few hours which is a pain for me. Even when the color has worn off, my lips doesn't feel dry or uncomfortable. Since the lipstick has moisturizing formula and needs reapplication I find it tends to wear down or shrink rather quickly.

'Pomegranate' is a beautiful sheer plum red color with a slightly glossy finish. It doesn't contain shimmers or glitters. It looks great on my lips and instantly brightens up my face. It doesn't look dramatic like other red lipsticks but it does look glam on me. It can be used for both day wear and night outs. This shade would look flattering on all skin tones.
