As the weather is going weird and changing every now and then, my skin is also gearing to drier side. Recently I came across a fantastic brand Hemp and Honey Plus that uses two very effective and all natural ingredients hemp oil and manuka oil in their skincare products. MBT says-

Hemp and Honey Plus Body Cream comes in a small, round slightly frosted plastic tub with a white screw top lid. It comes sealed with a sticker to ensure that it has not been used or opened. The packaging is very light and the tub can be easily carried around in a bag without any fear of leakage. I really do not mind the tub packaging when it comes to body cream as it allows you to get the last bits left at the bottom of the tub. The packaging is simple and clinical looking but yet giving an impression of natural products. The cream is filled to the brim which I really liked. Both the variants are light yellow in color. The variant Pomegranate has mild yet yummy scent. I liked Vanilla and Matcha Green variant a lot. Its scent is yummilicious and I feel as if I am holding a cup of vanilla ice cream.

The texture of the creams is very soft and smooth with creamy consistency. They get spread easily and absorb instantly without excessive rubbing. I simply dip my clean finger to scoop out a small amount of body cream. I then massage it over my body especially the dry parts. No excessive rubbing is required due to its smooth consistency. It feels soft and luxurious on my skin and doesn't leave any greasy residue behind. After application, I don’t feel the need to wash any remaining product from my hands. My skin feels incredibly soft, smooth and hydrated for the whole day(I have normal body skin!). The body cream takes good care of the dry parts of the body like elbow, knee and undersides of the feet. It contains hemp seed oil, manuka honey, aloe vera and green tea as ingredients that leave my skin beautifully moisturized and healthy looking. The scent lasts mildly on my skin for a good whole day. I am totally in love with the scent. If you have very dry skin then you might need to reuse it after 6 hours or so.

The quantity of body creams is quite less and they would only last a month or two with daily use. It is suitable for daily use and I have not suffered any adverse effects while using it.

It is a delight to be a part of my skincare regime. It makes me feel instantly refreshed. It gets absorbed quickly without leaving a residue behind. Both the variants are awesome and I would most definitely recommend them to everyone!

Gillette Venus Razor comes in a blue blister pack with all the information printed at the back. The packaging is really refreshing and feminine. As soon as you open the pack, you will find 1 razor, blade and a holder to keep the razor safe and secured. I always make sure to keep it in my shower bag to keep it clean and in good condition.

The razor itself is very light and pretty to look at. It is light blue in color and is made from plastic. It has three blades surrounded by soft protective cushions to give you a close, smooth shave with less irritation. The blades are spaced closer together to reduce pressure. The razor has soft rubber-y handles that gives a firm grip on the product while holding it. I use it with my shaving gel and sometimes when I am really in hurry I shave my underarms dry. Either way, the blades glides across the skin smoothly without putting pressure. The head of the razor adjusts itself and removes hair quickly. Instead of removing hair in one go I do it in small areas. My skin gets rid of unwanted hair and I do not need to go to the same area again. It feels soft and smooth without any traces of stray hair. I then rinse it off and pat it dry. My skin does not feel dry or irritated which I usually feel with other razors. I do not use razors for shaving legs or hands as I feel it might lead to ingrown hair. The razor does its job quickly when I am really in hurry and I need to wear sleeveless outfits. I have been using it for more than a month and the blade has not gone blunt yet. As always I need to shave my underarms frequently as they tend to grow back quickly. Blade refills are available in the market so you can change when they go blunt.

It does not leave any stray hair behind and makes skin soft and smooth. It does not cause any irritation or darken skin unlike other razors. If you have sensitive skin like mine I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!

The cleanser or makeup remover has oil like consistency. I was really skeptical to try it out as I have oily, acne prone skin and thought it would break out my skin. But no it has become my favorite makeup remover. I simply pump 2-3 times on my palm and massage it onto my face and neck. Sometimes I mix 2-3 drops of rose water in the makeup remover to get cooling sensation and it also becomes easy to massage it onto my skin. It feels very light on the skin and blends easily. I then take a damp cloth or cotton wool and wipe off the makeup remover. It removes all dirt, oil, grime and makeup off the skin without leaving a greasy residue behind. It also removes all my waterproof makeup effectively without leaving a speck behind. I then wash it off using a good face wash. My skin looks super soft, smooth, moisturized and clean. It feels balanced and healthy. I avoid using this cleanser on my eyes and lips as it contains various essential oils and I am not sure if these ingredients can used on eye area. It contains many natural and certified organic ingredients like Bergamot essential oil, jojoba oil, raspberry seed oil that keeps skin soft, smooth, moisturized and rejuvenated. It suits all skin types and I have not faced any adverse effects whilst using it. It does not aggravate acne and helps in clearing blemishes.

I love how baby soft my skin feels after using it. I love using it to remove my makeup and I do not feel the need to follow it up with a moisturizer (yes it is that moisturizing!). It is an organic and natural cleanser and makeup remover. I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!

•Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania in Starry Nights (Review HERE)

It is the prettiest black glitter nail polish. It looks really chic and glittery on my nails. It does not chip for over a week which is really impressive. Though I loved all the shades but this was the ONE that I mostly reached for.

•Salcura Antiac Activ Gel Serum (Review HERE)

If you have red spots or acne then you will love this gel serum. It reduces redness within few hours and lightens it to a great extent. It is very effective and dries out the acne. I am absolutely in love with it and would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!

•Sattvik Acne Soap (Review HERE)

Monthly Favorites September 2014

Though I never use soaps on my face but I used this acne soap and loved how well it cleanses my oily skin. It reduces acne and pimples to a great extent. It does not dry out the skin and contains all good organic ingredients.

I had already reviewed Elle 18 nail Pops in shade #18 HERE in detail. Refer that post regarding more details on packaging, formula and application. I had also reviewed Elle 18 Nail Pops in shade #03, #05, #23 and #15.

One coat delivers a fairly decent coverage but gives an opaque coverage with 2 coats. I really love the color pay off of this polish. It dries within a few minutes and you are ready to apply a top coat. The color looks just the same as in the bottle. The polish lasts for about 5-6 days on my nails before showing signs of wear. It is easy to remove and doesn't stain my nails.

Shade number 60 is a warm red color with creamy and glossy finish. It does not contain any shimmers. It is an easy to wear color and would look good for both office work and night outs. It instantly brightens up my nails and hands. It would look pretty on all skin tones. It would look great with traditional Indian dresses too! Overall Elle 18 Nail Pops #60 is one the best red nail polishes I own. It gives good coverage and lasts for a long time. It looks pretty on nails and instantly brightens up my nails. It is definitely a pocket friendly nail polish and I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!

A Healthy Child definitely makes a Healthy Home

When I was a kid, I used to get 100% attendance certificate every year. I was the only kid in my class who used to attend school every day. My parents always made me eat healthy food and adopt healthy and active lifestyle.

It is rightly said healthy children are more likely to grow up to healthy adults. If your child’s immunity is low then he is more likely to fall ill frequently. If a child is ill then whole house seems to get ill. This truly applies to our home. Whenever I feel sad and low, my nephew Anay knows how to make me happy. Our home gets all sad and gloomy if we do not hear his cheerful laughter and sweet voice.

My nephew was an active and happy baby and our home was filled up with happiness and joy with his cheerful voice and playful tantrums. He definitely is an apple of my everyone’s eye. As he reached the age of 4, he started getting ill after every few months. Every one used to worry about him getting ill frequently especially catching cough and cold. Not only that he used to skip schools due to his poor health condition but his sad and quiet face scared the hell out of us. We took him to child specialist but the condition remains same. Peony Petal is cool toned pink color with coral undertones. It has creamy finish and does not tend to settle in fine lines of the lips. It has sheer to medium pigmentation and can be layered up easily. It stays put on my lips for a good 3-4 hours with light meals and drinking. The shade is very pretty and looks natural on my lips. It looks quite similar to Camellia Morning but has slightly coral undertones to it. I love wearing it with my casual outfits and it is a perfect shade for office and college going girls.

Rings and Tings Dream Bracelet comes packed in a re-sealable plastic case that protects the bracelet from getting damaged or prone to dust. The bracelet is quite lightweight and can be easily carried around in a bag.

The bracelet is gold plated with multiple links attached to each other. It has nice lobster clasp with a small ampersand type symbol that dangles down the circles of the other end of the bracelet. It has the charm letter with ‘dream’ written in stylish manner. You can also hang charms in the links that would it all the more pretty. The bracelet is really shiny and elegant to look at. It looks very delicate but is quite sturdy and would last really long. The clasp is easy to open and close and I can wear my bracelet myself. The bracelet has lots of links and it fits in easily around my wrist and does not tend to twist or roll over around my wrist. It is of great quality and I have not faced any adverse effects whilst using it.

I always make sure to keep my hands hydrated to make them look great as I tend to click lots of pictures of my nails. I had already introduced Hemp & Honey Plus in my review of their body creams. Hemp and Honey Plus Hand Butter comes in a small, round slightly frosted plastic tub with a white screw top lid. It comes sealed with a sticker to ensure that it has not been used or opened. The packaging is very light and the tub can be easily carried around in a bag without any fear of leakage. I really do not mind the tub packaging when it comes to hand butter as it allows you to get the last bits left at the bottom of the tub. The packaging is simple and clinical looking but yet giving an impression of natural products. The hand butter is dark yellow in color with mild and soothing scent. It instantly makes me feel good.

The texture of the hand butter is soft with thick consistency. The hand butter feels slightly hard and I need to apply little pressure to get some butter out. As soon as I apply it on my hands, I could feel clumps releasing from the hand butter that is really annoying. Despite having hard texture, it spreads easily over my hands and gets absorbed quickly. It does not leave greasy or slippery residue behind unlike other hand creams but make sure you use it sparingly. My hands feel wonderfully soft and silky smooth. Make sure less is more with this hand cream as applying lots of cream on your hands will make them feel greasy and oily. I have been using it for a month on my hands and cuticles. It makes my cuticles soft and smooth and my fragile nails do not tend to break (my nails used to break even on a light bang with door!). My hands feel moisturized and beautiful but I do feel the need to reapply it after 6 hours or so. The scent mildly lingers with me for a good few hours. I love applying it at bedtime to get the most out of it. Hemp & Honey Plus Hand Butter works for me in this changing weather when my hands and cuticles get really dry. It contains organic ingredients such as Hemp Seed Oil and Manuka Honey that are known for their moisturizing properties. I have not faced any adverse effects whilst using it.

Hemp & Honey Plus Hand Butter is a good hand butter that keeps hands in tip top condition. It makes my hands soft, smooth and moisturized. It gets absorbed quite quickly and does not leave greasy residue behind. The scent is amazing and instantly makes me feel good. Had there been no clumps, I would have given it full points. I love using it at bedtime!

UPDATE: The grainy or clumpy texture is due to the variations in temperature. Unrefined Shea Butter changes its texture when exposed in high temperatures and then not cooled down properly. The actual product has very soft and smooth texture and does not have any clumps or grainy texture! Its just that the hand butter travelled all the way to India and got small clumps in it.

KKCenterHK Rainbow Circle Nail Foil Transfer comes in a small and cute clear plastic jar with a black screw top lid. The jar is quite light and can be easily carried around in a bag. The nail art foil comes in the form of roll and is a very thin foil with circular rainbow designs on its face.

Application of the nail foil is easy but little time consuming than stickers and nail art water decals. Here are the step by step instructions on how to apply nail art foils:

•Cut nail foils into pieces large enough to cover the whole nail.

•Apply a base coat. Here I have used Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel in Lilac Chrome. Let it dry completely.

•Apply nail glue. Make sure you apply a thin layer of glue. Let it dry completely or when it is slightly gloopy or tacky. The key to remember is when the glue turns its color from white to transparent.

•Place the foil with face up and rub it using a cotton bud. Do not forget to press it at the edges of the nails.

•Peel off the foil gently. In this case I have not let my glue get dried properly and all I got are the patches.

•Apply a thin layer of top coat. Do not apply lots of top coat else it would shrink the foil badly.

The nail foils look really pretty and unique on my nails. They do not tend to get messy and I love how light they feel on my nails. As I am not so good in applying nail foils, I applied metallic nail paint as base polish to fill up the blanks that were left while peeling off. They lasted on my nails for a good 5-6 days without peeling, dulling or chipping. I absolutely loved how colorful and classy my nails look with these nail foils. It is not necessary to cover the whole nails and you can create a variety of designs using this rainbow foil. I loved the patchy design I ended up with. The nail foil comes off easily using a nail polish remover and does not create a mess.

Rings and Tings Love Ring comes in a small re-sealable plastic case that protects the ring from getting damaged or prone to dust. The ring has lovely message written over it. It is quite light and feels extremely comfortable on my finger.

The ring is made from solid sterling silver with glossy black finish. I think it comes in only one size and it fits easily in my index finger. The ring has quite thin band with ‘LOVE’ written on the rectangular top. The writing has been embedded in the ring and looks really classy on my fingers.

The ring is of medium size and is neither too big nor too small. It is quite sturdy and I have not seen any signs of wear and tear despite being wearing it almost every day. It looks chic and cute and I got so many compliments when I wore it. It would look fabulous with western outfits and dresses. Though it is looks quite plain and simple but it is definitely a statement piece. I use a soft cloth to clean it if it gets dirty and it becomes shiny again. It is made of good material and does not leave a green ring around my finger.

Hemp and Honey Plus Soap comes in a white cardboard box packaging with all the information written over it. As soon as the box is opened, you are greeted with lovely and refreshing scent. The soaps come in two variants- Lavender and Tea Tree & Tea Tree and Black Pepper. Both the soaps have prominent scent of tea tree which is very mild and instantly soothes the senses. The soap is yellow-ish brown in color and is rectangular in shape.

The soap creates a soft, rich lather that feels extremely soft on my skin. The scent does not tend to intensify and feels really soothing and calming. It vanishes away as soon as the soap is rinsed out (As I don’t like fragranced product, it actually do not bother me!). The soap removes all dirt, oil and grime off my skin without stripping off of moisture. It is easily rinsed away without leaving a greasy or sticky residue behind. My skin feels soft, smooth, hydrated and thoroughly cleansed. The soap moisturizes my skin and I do not feel the immediate urge to moisturize it. It is suitable for all skin types. It does not get soggy or melt in my soap dish due to its solid texture. You do not need to chunk it off to pieces. The 125g of soap would last pretty well. It is made from natural and organic ingredients.

Hemp seed oil prevents moisture loss in the skin and helps prevent premature ageing. It helps in maintaining moisture balance in the skin. It also helps in treating skin problems like eczema, acne and psoriasis. Manuka Honey is rich in antibacterial properties and cleanses the skin without stripping off of moisture.

Dove Intense Repair Conditioner comes in a pearly white sturdy plastic tube with the same colored flip top lid. The packaging is very appealing and soothing to the eyes. The lid is quite tight and the tube can be carried around in a hand bag without any fear of leakage or spillage. The conditioner is white in color with a delightful smell.

The texture of the conditioner is rich and creamy with a good consistency. I take a small blob of conditioner and apply it to the length of my hair. It applies easily and spreads effortlessly over my hair. The nice aroma does not tend to intensify during the application. I leave the conditioner for about 2-3 minutes to get the most benefit out of it before rinsing. It is easily rinsed away without leaving any sticky residue feeling behind. It leaves my hair soft, silky smooth and shiny. My hair feels super silky to the touch. The conditioner has greatly improved the texture of my hair making them less prone to breakage specially while combing. The scent lingers with me for at least two days. The ends of my hair which are prone to dryness and roughness also feel soft, manageable and tangle free. I am able to brush my hair with great ease with absolutely no tangles. I really love the way it imparts softness and shine to my hair.

I really cannot talk of my experience with repair of damaged hair as I don’t use lots of chemicals or heat on my hair and they are not damaged. The conditioner contains Keratin Actives that repair damaged hair at cellular level. Since I apply the conditioner only on the lengths of the hair, I am not sure if it makes hair greasy or weighs them down when applied onto the roots.

The actual product comes in a thick, sturdy, clear glass bottle with a black smooth pump dispenser. The pump dispenses the right amount of the product. It is quite light and can be easily carried around in a makeup bag without any fear of leakage or spillage. You just need to twist the dispenser to be able to dispense the product.

The foundation is slightly creamy liquid in consistency with smooth texture. Dawn Glow is slightly orange in color but looks amazing on skin with pearly finish. It spreads easily and blends in quickly without being cake-y or patchy. It is quite moisturizing due to the presence of Manuka Honey and other natural oils in it but I always make sure to use a primer underneath it. It can be used as sheer foundation, under the foundation, as highlighter or mixed with a foundation. I have used it in all ways and I must say it makes my skin look gorgeous in every way.

In winters when my skin becomes dry and dull, I love using it as a sheer foundation all over my face. Make sure your skin is clear with no blemishes. It gives an amazing radiance to my skin without being OTT. It does not contain shimmers but gives a pearlescent finish that looks pretty natural and classy. I also love mixing it with my full coverage foundation to give an all over glow to my skin. Remember less is more with this foundation. If you are in search for a perfect highlighter then it is THE ONE! It works as a fabulous highlighter and I love how natural glow it imparts to my skin. I also apply a dot on my brow bones that highlights my eyes and make them stand out. The foundation can also be mixed with body lotion to give a subtle sheen to your legs and collar bones. It stays on my oily skin for a good 4-5 hours with a primer on. As the winter is approaching, it lasts long for more than 6-7 hours which is pretty awesome. It does not dull down my face and does not tend to oxidize.

Dazzling Diva is a shiny true silver color with lots of silver glitters. It looks dazzling yet elegant on my nails. If you are fond of silver shades then this shade is for you. The nail polish looks beautiful on my nails and in the bottle. The shimmers make the color all the more pretty and create a beautiful textured effect. It provides a lovely textured finish and is a true elegant color. It is a perfect shade for day time and night parties and would look flattering on all skin tones. It definitely makes my hands look bright, classy and noticeable. I really got so many compliments when I wore this shade. It is quite pigmented and gives true color in two coats. It lasts on my nails for more than a week without chipping. I absolutely love its textured finish that is the USP of this nail polish!

It contains 10 wax strips (5 double strips) and 2 after depil wipes. They are handy when you really have no time to visit parlor. They are quite wide as compared to Veet Wax Strips. They are easy to use and are a convenient way to ensure effective hair removal. They are all natural and are dermatologically tested.

I had used these wax strips on my hands. Before removing hair, make sure your hands or legs are not moisturized. I either apply talcum powder or wash my hands with a body wash to remove body lotion from my skin. Just rub the double strips between your palms to heat it by friction and then peel the two strips apart. Put it on your hands or chosen areas and press it firmly downwards. Pull the strip away against the hair growth. Make sure you remove it immediately else the wax starts getting cool and stick to the skin. Repeat the procedure until you are done. The pain caused by wax strips is same as that of hot wax minus the hot feeling of the wax. The strips can be used 2-3 times before having to throw it away.

The strips are effective in removing hair effectively and leave my skin soft and smooth. Though I always get red bumps after waxing and I always make sure to spray Avene Thermal Spring Water all over my hands. I need 3-4 double strips for doing full hands so hoard more if you are planning to do both hands and legs. The strips tend to leave a thin layer of wax on my skin which gets easily removed with after depil wipes which are soaked with some oil that moisturizes the skin nicely. I start getting hair re-growth after around 2 weeks and the waxing do not lead to ingrown hair or prickly hair which happens with most of the ready to use wax strips. The wax strips are awesome in case of emergencies when you want to wear sleeveless or skirts and you do not have time to visit parlor. Though they do not give salon wax finish but they definitely gives a clean look to my skin.

Himalaya Intensive Moisturizing Body Lotion comes in a sturdy white plastic bottle with a dark green flip top lid. The packaging is quite neat and simple. The lid shuts with a satisfying click and thus the bottle can be carried around in a handbag without any fear of leakage or spillage. The body lotion smells of cocoa and has a mix of sweet and bitter scent. The scent is quite mild and does not bother sensitive noses. It is brown-ish white colored body lotion.

The texture of the body lotion is soft and smooth. It has fairly good consistency. It is neither too thick nor too runny. It is applied on the skin effortlessly. It easily and quickly absorbs into the skin without leaving any residue behind. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and moisturized. After applying the product, I don’t feel the need to wash any remaining product from my hands. Although the lotion is lightweight but I think it would suit dry skin as well. The scent is fresh and lingers with me for quite a few hours. I don’t feel the need to reapply the lotion throughout the day (I have normal body skin!) but if you have extremely dry skin I think you would need to reapply it after few hours. As it does not contain sunscreen I make sure to apply one to protect my skin from harmful sun rays.

The lotion is extremely mild and gentle and is suitable for daily use. It does not cause any adverse effects to my skin. It is quite effective for softening extremely hardened skin on the undersides of the feet. Though the body lotion is meant for dry or extra dry skin but I feel people with extremely dry skin might need to re apply it after every few hours to keep their skin soft and moisturized.
